With a water tower in place, the LONGi team donated Hi-MO X6 Explorer panels that were installed on the roof of the health clinic. These modules are known for their high efficiency, robustness and reliability, especially in harsh environments. The power from the panels is used to pump fresh water up the water tower. Faucets in the neonatal clinic can now provide clean, fresh water immediately upon use. Also they wanted to show by installing the panels from LONGi, the goal was to show that the panels can handle all conditions, from Nordic climate to African climate without problems.

Project Highlights

At the beginning of the year, LONGi teamed up with PV partner Senergia AB to support an important project in Mozambique that was initiated by Project Vita, an NGO focused on empowering people to improve their own lives.

In the village of Linga Linga, LONGi and partners had the clear goal to provide clean water for their health clinic - a maternity clinic. Clean water is essential for the health of mothers and babies, and the lack of running water is a major problem in many parts of Africa. Water for handwashing, sterilization, or laundry - the bare minimum of hygiene - is not available. At the same time, electricity is a scarce resource, yet the basis for changing hygiene standards.

Running water is essential for giving birth. This project already has and will continue to save human lives. 38 babies have been born at the clinic since the installation, in using clean water.
