On the morning of October 11, LONGi（Pingmei）New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. held a ceremony to launch 2GW Phase 1 of its 4GW Efficient Mono crystalline Silicon Cell Project into production in Xiangcheng County, Xuchang City, Henan Province. LONGi (Pingmei) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a joint venture company between LONGi Solar and Pingmei Group. It makes a great stride of LONGi Group which is the world's leading manufacturer of Mono crystalline Silicon products towards its objective to build the world’s largest efficient mono crystalline silicon cell production base .
The 2GW phase 1 project includes 14 production lines, adopts the latest technology in the industry, and the photoelectric conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon cell is higher than 21.5%, better than the national “top-runner” standard for the photovoltaic industry. The 2GW phase 2 project will adopt upgraded p-type PERC double-sided cell and N-type double-sided cell technology, introduce ion-implanted boron diffusion and laser technology, and the conversion efficiency of the front side of the N-type double-sided cell can reach a global leading level of more than 22%. The 4GW phase 3 silicon wafer processing and module manufacturing project is under planning. Upon completion of these projects, LONGi(Pingmei) will become the world’s largest mono crystalline silicon cell manufacturing base.
